TL;DR: Focusix7 does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share
any personal data. Nothing leaves your device. No accounts, no tracking, no ads.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to the Focusix7 Android application
("the app", "we", "us") published on Google Play under the package name
io.focusix7.app. Focusix7 is a single-developer hobby project that
helps users stay focused by gamifying time spent without distractions.
2. Data we collect
We collect nothing. The app has no analytics, no telemetry,
no crash reporting, no advertising IDs, and no backend server. It does not
ask for your name, email, location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera,
or any other identifying or sensitive information.
All app data — your focus history, brain cells, aura, owned outfits,
hero name, theme choice, and unblock list — is stored
locally on your device only, using the standard Android
browser localStorage mechanism and a private
SharedPreferences file. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.
3. Permissions the app requests
Focusix7 requests the following Android permissions. Each is used solely for
the feature described, and no data collected via these permissions ever leaves
your device.
Accessibility Service (FocusBlockerService)
What it does: Detects when you switch foreground apps
during a focus session so the app can show the “back to Focusix7”
overlay when a non-allowed app comes to the front.
What it sees: The package name of the app you just opened
(e.g. com.instagram.android) and whether you returned to
Focusix7.
What it does NOT do: Read screen contents, capture text,
record audio, take screenshots, or transmit anything off-device. All app
package data stays on your phone and is discarded the moment the focus
session ends.
You're always in control: You can revoke this permission
any time in Android Settings → Accessibility. The app will work, but
the focus lock won’t enforce.
Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW)
Used solely to render the “back to Focusix7” overlay when
you open a blocked app during focus.
The overlay is local UI — no network calls, no data transmitted.
Foreground service + notifications
Posts a sticky notification during an active focus session so Android
doesn’t kill the app in the background.
You can dismiss the notification once the session ends; we never push
promotional notifications.
Query installed apps (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES)
Used solely to populate the in-app “Allowed apps” picker so you
can choose which apps remain accessible during focus.
The installed-apps list is read on-device, displayed only to you, and never
uploaded, logged, or sent anywhere.
Wake Lock + Vibrate
Wake Lock keeps the screen alive during a focus session if you choose
that option.
Vibrate provides haptic feedback on session events.
Internet
The Android “INTERNET” permission is declared because the
Capacitor web-view runtime requires it for compliance. However,
the app makes no outbound network requests. The web UI
is bundled inside the APK and loads entirely from local files. You can
verify by running the app in airplane mode — every feature works.
4. Children’s privacy
The app does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
The Play Store age rating is Everyone. The target audience is 13+.
5. Third-party services
Focusix7 does not integrate any third-party SDKs — no Firebase, no
Google Analytics, no Crashlytics, no AdMob, no social-login. Google Fonts
(Fredoka and Nunito) are bundled inside the APK as local font files; the app
does not fetch them from Google’s servers at runtime.
6. Your data, your control
View your data: Everything stored is visible directly in
the app — your wallet, owned items, focus stats, hero name.
Reset your data: Go to the Hero screen → Reset All
Progress. This wipes everything immediately.
Delete everything: Uninstall Focusix7. All
localStorage and SharedPreferences data is
removed by Android automatically.
7. Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices ever change (they won’t without good
reason), this page will be updated with a new “Last updated”
date. Material changes will also be summarised in the app’s release notes
on Google Play.
8. Contact
Questions, concerns, or just want to say hi about the app?
